People to Meet - Places to Go - Things to See
and Do The Bob Griffin Show What's Up Bob? All features are also heard on KGAS Carthage, KMHT Marshall and KPXI Henderson. People To Meet, Places To Go, Things To See And DoThat's what you'll hear about when Bob Griffin is on 710KEEL. His half-hour shows and radio columns feature everything from travel to sports to Christian subjects of interest. His interviews are positive, upbeat, interesting and full of information. On the Bob Griffin Radio Show, the subject for the day is just a starting point. For example, a football coach talks not only about his sport, but about his way of life that surrounds his job. You don't just hear about where a good vacation spot is, you learn why. Or you might learn what an evangelist and his family do for fun when he's not preaching. The theme of the show is constructive - not destructive. It's about the good things in life, not the bad. |
In television in Shreveport-Bossier for nearly 50 years, after 47 years
at KSLA TV, Bob became the News Anchor on KTBS TV's Saturday and Sunday
morning First News. He also does a travel feature, Griffin's Ark-La-Tex,
which airs on KTBS TV's Monday morning First News. Bob wants to tell people in person, on radio and TV and over the internet,
about all the great things there are to see and do, places to go and
people to meet – not only in his home town but throughout the south,
the country and around the world: good and morally proper things to see
and do and people to meet. Bob also speaks to church groups about the all-important role God has
played in his life. Often Bob's talk are also centered on sports or travel.
Bob never charges a fee to speak or make an appearance on behalf of his
community. Mark Porter of Porter's Fine Dry Cleaning covers Bob's office
expenses and Todd Burns of Time-it Lube provided the startup funds for
the BobGriffinOnLine.com website. The Early Years When he returned to Arkansas, he went to work for a radio station in
Fort Smith and then moved on to Texarkana. After joining KSLA in 1961
as a staff announcer he had a children's show "Bob and His Buddies" through
the 1960's. A short time after arriving at KSLA Bob began doing both
sports and weather and after several years of doing both concentrated
solely on sports. Along the way Bob was known for his travel stories which not only aired
on KSLA TV but throughout the Southwest and in some cases nationally
and internationally. His favorite local series was Griffin's Ark-La-Tex.
Today Bob is busier than ever promoting the positive things about the
Ark-La-Tex. Today, his Griffin's Ark-La-Tex is a regular feature on KTBS
TV's Monday mornings First News. Bob has a Christian half-hour radio show (The Bob Griffin Radio Show)
which is aired weekly on KEEL in Shreveport and four stations in East
Texas: KGAS in Carthage, KMHT in Marshall and KWRD and KPXI in Henderson..
The radio show features travel destinations, Ark-La-Tex features, personalities
and the "Good Side" of life. Bob also has a daily minute-long feature, People to Meet, Places to Go and Things to See and Do" that runs Monday through Friday on KEEL at 6:50 a.m.
